I am writing a book on mother-daughter relationships. I had the best relationship with my mother and I have the most amazing and wonderful relationship with my daughter.  I have been asked many times – please tell me how to have the kind of relationship with my daughter that you have with yours. I have also been asked by daughters as to how to build a relationship with their mothers that is fulfilling for both.

Now there are some mothers and daughters who will never have a good relationship for whatever reasons I won’t go into here. However, for those who are willing to build a relationship of mutuality, love, respect, and unconditional postive regard, I can and will help. It is an amazing gift to give to each other and you won’t be sorry you put effort into making this “gift” a reality and “present” in your life.

I saw this on a website and wanted to share it with you because it is beautiful and meaningful to me and hope it is the same for you:

The duo of a mother and her daughter shares a very beautiful relationship, like no other relationship in this world. When a daughter is
growing up, her mother proves to be her guiding light, making sure that she doesn’t end up doing something that will harm her in future. As a woman enters adulthood, her mother becomes her closest friend and confidant. What better way to express the beauty of a mother-daughter relationship than through poignant poems? The poetry given below will also prove useful in this regard.

Mother and Daughter

Poems From Daughter
To Mother

We’re daughter and mother
Not so long ago.
We give and take
And take and give
Along times endless row.
Love is passed

And love received
To be passed on again:
A precious heirloom
Twice, twice blessed,
A spiritual cardigan.

I’ll put it on And treasure it,
The me I have received,
And when the roles Reverse again,
I’ll have what I most need.

So may our love Go on and on,
A hundred thousand years;
Mothers and daughters,
Daughters and mothers,
Through joys and other tears.

Relationship of Mother and
Daughter

You can see it in their eyes,
in tender hugs and long good-byes,
a love that only moms and daughters know.

You can see it in their smiles,
through passing years and changing styles,
a friendship that continually seems to grow.

You can see it in their lives,
the joy each one of them derives,
in just knowing that the other one is there…

To care and to understand,
lend an ear or hold a hand,
and to celebrate the memories they share. –

I Love You Mother
I Love You Mother
You are so special and kind
And I love you so You helped to build my mind
And I want you to know.
The thought of you by me
Just makes me smile.
We are so close

Forever and not just a while.
I appreciate you mother
And I love all your style.
