Every aspect of my life is constantly changing: family, spiritual life, attitude, career, relationships, health, and beliefs. I have to make the most of every situation and so I’ve created my own set of rules to keep me focused and that I use as affirmations to help me know that all will be well.

If you’re also dealing with a challenging time, I hope these guidelines may help you as well.

Rule #1: Set your goals and look at options.

When everything seems to have fallen apart, realize you still have options, and then plan exactly what you want to do to implement them.

I want to live my life using my natural gifts and experience. I want to love, to write, to create, to teach, to paint, and inspire self and others, and to use my positive thinking and skills to generate the energy to live and love. I’m working toward my goals, but I understand they might not all come to fruition so I take one at a time to work on. If things don’t pan out exactly as I hope, I know I can deal with it positively.

Where are your instincts and/or “gut” guiding you when things happen or don’t happen? Say it to yourself, the people who support you, and the world. Manifest what you want and work towards making it happen. This is the first step in creating a fulfilled and passionate life.

Rule #2: Focus on things that are working.

Don’t dwell on everything you think your life lacks but focus on the things that are going right.

A great affirmation to say (50 times minimum) or as often during the day as you can, would be “I have the life that I want: I write every day. I take risks. I seek opportunities. I have abundance in my life, etc.

I use and enhance my natural gifts and enable all that I have to grow, strengthen, and come in to light. The important thing is that I know what I want and I can make it happen.

There are few things in this life that are impossible and we always have a choice. We don’t have to live in the shadow of what could have been but live passionately if we shine a light on what’s working.

Rule #3: Awareness Plus Action = Change.

Do all that you can do in a day and at night reflect on what was accomplished. Focus on the priorities of the next day so that when it begins, you begin as well. Keep things realistic and manageable.

Don’t be unrealistic in expectations about what you can accomplish in a day. It means using the time you have most effectively.

It helps to start the day with a prioritized to-do list, and aim to complete at least five important tasks each day. If there is time to begin the 6th and so on – then do so.

Rule #4: Create balance.

Do something for your mind, body, and soul every day. Meditate, exercise, read, solve a puzzle, or learn another language. Get air, do yoga; walk, run, dance, stretch. For me listening to soothing music, laughing with friends and enjoying a good meal with loved one’s is balance.

Greeting a stranger on the street, smiling at someone, is just as significant as donating possessions you no longer need to charity. Give and enjoy it – receive and enjoy it. You’ll feel better lt.

Rule #5: Embrace fear.

Walk through your fears every day. Fear is like a hologram and once you walk through it you are fine on the other side of it. Let that fear become a positive energy that moves you forward.

Be bold. Be Brave. You are capable and courageous – letting nothing stop your determination. Don’t allow other people’s fear to bog you down. Write it out and don’t hold onto fear. Each day is letting fear work for you and not stop you.

Rule #6: Release.

If you feel restricted and/or boxed in – then ask yourself in what way. Ask and explore what you can do to change the situation. Awareness. Ask and Action. Share and create Change. Sometimes letting go and redirecting your energy is the better path.

Rule #7: Practice Gratitude.

Look back on your day and highlight five things that made it brighter—people, treats, realizations. Remember to thank the people who have supported you.

If it’s been a testing day do a Gratitude A-Z. Write something for every letter and see how you feel after you look back on twenty-six things you’re grateful for.

Rule #8: Improve on yesterday.

Do something that will make today better than the yesterday’s you’ve had.  Can you do something about that now? If Yes? Do it! If No – find the Yes and do it.

Re-affirm verbally, spiritually, physically, mentally, creatively, and socially all that you have and energize it so that it continues to develop. Progress is the key towards happiness.

Rule #9: Don’t give up.

Have you made mistakes and stumbled before? If so what did you do to get yourself back up at living through that experience? You might stumble but know that you’ll be okay as long as you learn, act, and remember that you already have all that you need.

Live in the now. Fantasy keeps us from living in the now and viewing yourself as other positive people view you. Recognize what you’re doing well, instead of dwelling on what you wish you did better and don’t let fantasy hurt you by unrealistic thinking.

I know a lot of people may think I haven’t “reached” the place where I need to be yet. I’m not in denial, I need money, good health, and love, but I am optimistic, and I move forward and trust.

I have felt tired, stressed, upset, desperate and exhausted. We all do sometimes.

But you can and will enrich your life with these simple rules – the life you have right now and the life you want and will have in the future. Take charge now and take the action steps.
