Let’s talk about family court reform and what you feel needs to happen to make it better. One of the things that needs to be looked into is to have a jury system in family court so Judge’s aren’t the sole person making judgements. We know that they are not trained in domestic violence except for 7 hours of mandated training and yet sit over family court cases that have to do with abuse. Having a jury would increase the outcomes for more fair judgements and less judicial misconduct for men and women. I also think that mandated training for them should be required just as it is for any other professional. They should be required to pass a pre-test and post-test in order to sit on the bench. They should also be required to have CEU’s to keep up on educational changes.
