Women and men who are in abusive relationships, have a hard enough time, leaving the relationship due to trauma bonding, threats, fear, and control over them. Many of heard that Family courts also use abuse, control, and bias against them when they are going through a divorce. The word is out that children are being taken away from a protective parent, and given to an abusive parent by the courts every day.
We all know Child abuse is a significant issue, with reports indicating that a child abuse report is made every 10 seconds in the United States, totaling approximately 18,720 reports daily. In 2024, an estimated 532,228 children were confirmed victims of abuse or neglect in the U.S., averaging about 1,460 cases per day.
Additionally, nearly five children die each day from abuse or neglect, totaling approximately 1,773 fatalities in 2024. These statistics underscore the critical need for continued efforts in prevention, intervention, and support for affected children and families. Yet family court ignores the statistics through privilege, bias, legal abuse, and judges, being abusers and child abusers as well.
The Family court system is totally broken. The very few judges who are honest, have integrity, and have the best interest of the children at heart are few and far between. So why would a woman leave an abuser to step inside the courtroom with a legal abuser? These are the decisions that victims of domestic terrorism deal with when they are trying to make decisions whether to leave a relationship or not.
Facts:
According to the National Center for State Courts, approximately 6–10 state judges are formally removed from the bench nationwide each year for misconduct.
The most recent published figures are:

There is another important number: In 2024, an additional 27 judges agreed to resign or retire permanently rather than continue disciplinary proceedings.
So, in 2024, 37 judges either were formally removed or agreed to leave judicial office permanently through disciplinary proceedings.
These numbers cover state judges, not federal judges.
So again, the choices and decisions, a victim of relationship terrorism has to make is whether to stay with her terrorist or step into the courtroom with a legal terrorist. Both choices are terrifying.
